The future!

And now to what's happening to carry the farm far into the uncertain future  . . . .

The veg garden is happily being resurrected, and I still have my sheep, all born on the farm and trusting me to take care of them; but I now have many new projects to make the farm and farmhouse as nearly zero-carbon as possible, some of which have been achieved (biomass boiler burning local pellets) while others are just twinkles (a Forest Garden in the orchard; a dairy cow to feed the cats and pigs).  On the way, however, are PV cells on the barn roof; the pigs; a horse and cart; a wood-burning range cooker; more primitive sheep, to save feeding expensive, imported grains; and (I hope) a varied range of small-scale crops.  It will all take immensely careful planning, to get all the interconnected systems balanced; and days, weeks, and months of hard work.  I shall need help! So if you want to learn how to build a truly locally-based and locally-sustainable farming system, which will provide everything needed to support a really rewarding lifestyle, you can fnd out how here, at Little Mill Farm.
